Located in Montana, the Pinehaven Christian Children’s Ranch covers an area of nearly 1,100 acres "kid n cattle" ranch and school. Since the year 1976, it has been caring for children who are under trouble and showing them the true way of finding an alternative livelihood.



Methodology Followed



Children who are facing trouble live in homes with house parents and they usually come from divergent difficult situations. Some of the characteristics of these children are that –

More often than not these children are defiant in nature.

They lack motivation in schools.

Usually such children are found running with the wrong crowd.

Few of these people have spiritual values when they arrive.

Most of the children have accepted religious faith and the average parent evaluation is that God has worked a miracle with the child.

The ministry for such children was established by Bob Larsen and he also continues to oversee the operations of the ministry.

Groups from the school participate in mission tours and visits.




What the Ranch Offers



Pinehaven Christian Children’s Ranch helps troubled and disadvantaged youth for finding answers to their physical, emotional, as well as spiritual needs. It is a ranch covering around 1,100 acres for the kid and cattle. About 30 minute’s driver north of Missoula, the ranch has been operating since 1984. Not only the kids from all over United States but also from other countries are taken and educated in the Ranch. It is basically a residential and year round program. With a structured and controlled environment, the school allows young people more effectively so that they are not distracted and hindered by many things. Such distractions could be real, physical, or social or people related and the school aims at doing away with all these difficulties.



School Overview



Over 50 students are studying in different grades from 5 to 12 in the school. Religious affiliation of the school is towards Christianity without any specific denomination. Around 13% of the students are from the colored category and the school follows the principles of co-education. With four teachers, the teacher student ration comes to 1:12 as against the national ratio of 1:16.




Average school days in a calendar year are 180 that are commensurate with national average which is also 180.
