Recent graduates in any field (but science based disciplines like chemistry would be better) can opt for an internship with a pharmaceutical company. You will not only learn more about medicines and procedures, but will have the opportunity to work on the concept of ‘work more – earn more’, which IT professionals and other folks are not entitled to ( most have a fixed salary).

Once a rep has a considerable amount of experience, he or she can opt for being a distributer or even a drugs’ manufacturer. Every state has different rules and regulations related to the license required to start manufacturing.

It is often said that whatever happens, a doctor will always have a decent flow of income. A doctor’s income creates income for other people involved, like the pharmaceutical sales representatives.

In addition, a pharmaceutical sales representative is required to be updated with the latest developments of medical field (at least pertaining to his area of scope).


Lastly, most pharmaceutical sales folks receive a conveyance allowance as a part of their salary structure because of the nature of their job, which involves a lot of travel.
